If you have a mobile home, you can still get the same home insurance coverage as someone living in a non-manufactured home. In addition, having an additional shed or garage can change your coverage.
If you live in a manufactured home such as a trailer or mobile home, you might be hesitant about getting a home owner insurance quote because you aren't sure what type of policy you can qualify for or if you even can qualify for home insurance. The good news is that you can in fact get insurance for a pre-fabricated home. However, there are some things that you will want to keep in mind as you begin the process of getting a home insurance quote for your manufactured home.
While most policies will cover the entirety of a manufactured home, some of the additional "add-on" elements to a house might not be covered. For example, if your mobile home is struck by a tornado or other major storm, it will be covered by your insurance for the home. However, if you have a shed or a garage, many policies will not cover these structures or the items that are housed inside. This can mean that you may not get reimbursed for losing value possessions such as machinery or vehicles.
Separate insurance policies are available for structures that are built onto a manufactured home. When you receive a home insurance online quote, make sure that you read everything that is potentially covered to make sure that the valuables you treasure are included. Not having the proper coverage can come as an incredibly unpleasant shock if you only learn about it after a major disaster has happened and it turns out that much of what you hold dear is not covered.
